What is Fantasy Waterskiing?
Fantasy Waterskiing (FWS) is the closest thing you can find to coaching your own skiers and becoming the team's manager, owner, and coach all in one. All decisions are yours to make. Each team owner is supplied with all of the tools -- draft methods, scores, stats for all skiers, etc. -- everything needed to build a team in the best manner possible.
Reports, analysis, and up-to-date feature articles are readily available to keep owners informed. Armed with this information, owners are free to create the team of their dreams. Owners can choose whom they compete against.

GETTING STARTED

Taking the Fantasy Waterski Tour is the best way for a new Fantasy Waterski owner to get acquainted with their new Fantasy Waterski franchise.

JOINING

Franchise Fee
Fantasy Waterski franchise fee is $9.95.

Creating a Team
There is no limit to the number of teams that can play in Fantasy Waterskiing. However, team owners can only place 1 team per conference. To purchase a team, click on the register link off the Homepage. To access your team after purchasing, go to the Fantasy Waterski login. You can then begin drafting your skiers.
When choosing team names, please keep your nickname clean. Your team may end up in feature articles that are posted on the homepage of Fantasy Waterski.

CONFERENCES

Join/Create Conference
When you register in the prize league, you have the option to join a public or private conference.

Private Conference
If you want to play with a specific group of people you know, create a "Private conference." The conference can choose its own name

Public Conference
If your team remains public (it is defaulted as such when first created), it will automatically be placed in a group with other independent teams.

DRAFT METHODS

The draft is the single most important factor for having a successful season. Teams which begin with a strong draft will most likely find themselves in good shape for the remainder of the season. Each team picks 15 skiers during the draft.

Draft Dates
You can draft your team as soon as you register a team and it appears on the leaderboard.

Draft Salary Cap
Each rider listed in the draft has a salary value to them. Your overall 15 skier roster then has a salary cap in which you can not exceed.

Choosing not to draft
You can choose not to draft your team. In these cases the computer will default a team closest to the salary cap for you

Post-draft
The draft supplies each team with 15 skiers. Following the draft, team owners can move a skier of their roster and pick up a free agent for free before the next FWS tournament, after that they cost your cap $250,00 per move per event. Free Agents are those skiers not picked up by you in the original draft. Skiers that are added during the season have a salary of $500,000

ACTIVE ROSTERS

You do not get to start all 15 of your team members. The active roster (skiers you send to the starting dock) will be different for each tournament. Depending on which events are being scored at the tournament will determine how many skiers you can send to the starting dock for that tournament. Head over to the schedule page to see the starting dock limits and deadlines.

Roster Changes
Skiers can be moved off your roster if you would like to pick up a free agent skier or other skiers not on your team. Teams may change their 15 skier roster at any time during the regular season. There is no limit to the number of roster changes a team can make over the course of the season. But all moves must be made by the deadlines provided here. However, an owner does want to take into consideration game limits when making roster changes. Also note that changes to your roster are only free before the next FWS tournament from the time you join, after that they cost you $250,000 per move per event

Roster Rules

  • A: Basics Each team's roster consists of 15 skiers. Only the skiers on the starting dock contribute to the team totals. The inactive (practice lake) skiers do not contribute to the team totals.
  • B: Deadlines Activation deadlines are shown here

SCORING SYSTEM

The scoring system used in Fantasy Waterskiis self explanatory.

The team's statistics are generated only by skiers on the team's starting dock. At the end of the season the team with the most accumulative points is awarded conference champion. The team who earns the most points out of all the Fantasy Waterski players will be awarded Fantasy Waterski Champion.

SCHEDULE

Fantasy Waterski.com has selected a number of tournaments to be used towards team points. Any tournament can be added or deleted at the discretion of Fantasywaterski.com. Right now the scoring tournaments can be found on the schedule

TRANSACTIONS

Activating/Docking riders
As the team owner, you decide which skiers to send to the starting dock and which to send back to the practice lake for upcoming tournaments. The owners page allows you to analyze each of your current skiers, and freely move skiers between your roster and free agency. Free agency riders are available to add to your team at all times.
