This is a good question! Starting in 2007 FWS was designed to allow both types of players a chance to have a FWS team. There are those that want to compete for prizes and have all the fancy manager tools for their money and there are still some of you who just play for fun, so that option is available. You can always switch from the free league to the pay league and if it's before the 2nd tournament of the year you even get to drag your points along with you.
